Types of Orthodontic Braces

Metal Braces
Conventional metal braces are now smaller, more efficient and comfortable In recent years following many advances in orthodontic materials such as metal wires and brackets.
Clear Braces
The metal brackets on braces can now be done clear or colored, depending on the patient's preference. Clear braces makes wearing braces less noticeable.
Lingual or Internal Braces
Lingual braces are attached to the inside or lingual side of the teeth which makes them completely non-visible. Lngual orthodontics particularly well-suited for adults whose professions keep them in the public eyes.

Self ligating Braces

Smiile Please Orthodontist Dr. Sharad Kumar offers two types of latest self ligating braces:

Smartclip Braces

Smartclip™ Self-Ligating Braces are the modern choice in orthodontics. They’re computer designed and use a special nickel-titanium metal alloy to make yourtreatment more comfortable, save time and give you the result you want – a beautiful new smile. Smartclip™ braces are different. They don’t use ligatures to hold the archwire... they’re self-ligating. Instead of elastic bands, Smartclip braces use small metal clips to hold the archwire into the bracket. Smartclip™ brackets are available in stainless steel.

A breakthrough in Orthodontic treatment and comfort.
Ordinary braces use “elastic bands” (technical name ligatures) to secure an archwire into a slot in each bracket. This is called “ligation”. The bands can become stained or stretched – requiring your orthodontist to change them. They can also retain food particles, making it more difficult to keep your braces clean. Your orthodontist will have to take these bands on and off to change or adjust the archwire during your treatment. No fun.
Damon Braces

The Damon System is a new breakthrough – these are fast, fixed orthodontic braces using low friction mechanics – which not only results in quicker treatment times but lighter forces and more comfortable treatment. By using Damon braces the patient experiences less visits to the practice and 4-6 months less in their treatment time. Fewer appointments and a beautiful smile...faster!
At Smiile Please, orthodontist Dr. Sharad Kumar always advocate early treatment, as we believe that interception is preferable to extraction. People of any age can benefit from our use of Damon braces and over the years we have been treating more and more adults.
It is clear that a good smile is a positive asset, one worth investing in at any age! Damon System braces use a unique slide mechanism that minimises the friction and binding associated with conventional braces. With Damon braces teeth align more quickly and comfortably.

Braces Using Micro-Screw Implants Anchorage

SMIILE PLEASE  orthodontist  Dr. SHARAD V. KUMAR  has concluded after several months of using mini orthodontic  implants that they tremendously improve orthodontic treatment results. In addition to providing proper anchorage for aligning teeth, Dr. Sharad's innovative use of mini orthodontic implants- also known as temporary anchorage devices, or TADs- in orthodontics is rendering some old standards of treatment- such as elastics and bulky head gear- unnecessary. "All patients want good results from their orthodontic treatment,"  Dr. Sharad  says. "I am willing to employ whatever means necessary to ensure my patients receive the best, safest and most successful treatment." Anchorage control is fundamental to successfully align teeth during orthodontic treatment, Dr. Sharad  says. Until mini implants, orthodontic tooth movement that once was accomplished through extraoral anchorage- devices such as head gear used outside the mouth- required cooperation from the patient by diligently and properly wearing the anchorage device.

"Not everyone is eager to wear head gear or elastics, because the appliances can be bulky and uncomfortable," Dr. Sharad says. Using mini implants removes the responsibility from the patient and ensures the best possible results in treatment, he said.
The mini implants are not permanent. They simply provide temporary anchorage during orthodontic treatment. The implants are installed by Dr. Sharad and once the patient's braces are removed, the implants can be removed as well.
